Have you ever heard about the “14 Juillet“ ? This is the most appreciated day of the year for French people. We celebrate memory of the French Revolution and the storming of the Bastille on July, 14th of 1789. The Bastille was a jail and fortress.

Nowadays, the “14 Juillet” is a very festive day. First of all, parties start on July the 13th. This day in most of all French cities - country side or around Paris - you can enjoy the "feux d’artifice" (fireworks) and "bals populaires" (you ‘ll dance all night long !).

Then, start your “14 Juillet” going early to the Champs-Elysées Avenue to have a look to the famous march-past. It’s a gathering of all military, police and fire department forces of France. A lot of parisians are there mixing with foreigners coming from alll over the world. It’s a 3 hour show you will not forget. On the night of 14 Juillet, first enjoy fireworks at Tour Eiffel, an astonishing show of 30 minutes during which the sky of Paris will shine intensely. Then, go to the nearest firestation and mix with the audience to see those firemen doing their show !
