Summer is hot in Paris, that's why we decide to bring you... the beach ! "Paris Plage" is simply the most creative summer events of the Parisian life : imagine that suddenly there are no more cars on the Seine river bank and instead, you have tons of sand with palm trees, sun and the right to sunbath all the day, right in the heart of Paris !  You do not dream, this is the reality (picture 1). Paris Plage was created 8 years ago and now it is so famous that a lot of other European cities just do the same, using their famous rivers to transform them into beaches. Once again Paris gave inspiration to other cities worldwide.

This year’s thema for Paris Plage is “Europe”. France is the head of the European Union during 6 months till the end of December 2008. So don’t be surprised to see on top of a lot of official buildings in Paris the European flag. ParisByPod team took for you this picture of the front wall of the Mairie de Paris which clearly shows the french flag, the european one and a boat floatting on the Seine river, which is the symbol of Paris (picture 2). It can thus be said Paris history is linked to the water element. Come to Paris and enjoy your summer.
