Most people if not all are dreaming of having a vacation on countries like America, Europe etc. The thought of seeing different people and exotic scenery definitely heightens the excitement of the whole preparation for the trip.

However, there are several risks involved when traveling abroad as compared to traveling within your country. There can be some dangers that may happen when you travel especially when you are totally unfamiliar of the place. Thus, in order for you to travel safely and happily abroad, here are several safety tips that you may care to know.

Tip #1: When you visit other country make sure that you made a review on their customs especially common governing laws. If in case you bump into something unlawful or you are having legal problems, don’t hesitate to contact the nearest Embassy.

Tip #2: Do not forget to give a copy of your final itinerary to your family and friends to be used in case of emergency. It is also important that you know the place and the name of the hotel you will be staying so that you can give the details in advance. If you know the transit information, you may inform them too.

Tip #3: Give your family a copy of your passport information so that in case your passport will be stolen or lost while you are in a foreign country you can still reprocess it.

Tip #4: Do not leave your things unattended especially in public places and avoid accepting packages from unfamiliar person.

Tip #5: Look modest and avoid flaunting expensive jewelry, credit cards, or anything that is valuable to robber’s eyes. Keep your check handy and don’t place your money in one location only. Have it scattered in different places and hide it in a safe place in your room. Make sure that you lock your room every time you go out.

Tip #6: Exchange your money only at authorized banks, hotels or foreign exchange establishments.

Tip #7: Let your hotel arrange your transport every time you need it. Although it’s easy to call a cab in large cities, there are still risks since sometimes there are taxis that are not licensed. It is still safer to use the vehicle and driver recommended by your hotel caretaker.

Tip #8: Take time to go to your local government travel site for more information regarding the latest travel advisory on places not fit for travel due to security reasons.
